This is a one of a kind box I created for my final project for a Digital Arts class at the IAIA. It is 6x8 inches, small but mighty! It is filled with the love of my Navajo culture and the designs that the Diné are known for. All the designs were my personal work created on Illustrator. I am a huge fan of butterflies and the galaxy or space so I incorporated my own Navajo design work that represented these elements. I took the designs and the box structure to class and used a laser cutter/etching machine to cut my pieces. All the pieces were carefully stained, protective coated and put together. I finished the box with black velvet flock inside of it and turquoise throughout! A total of 23 pieces of turquoise sit throughout the box in specific areas to bring the butterfly designs to life. The top center turquoise is a carved butterfly and set in gold fill metal. The drawer pulls out and has 6 compartments to store any keepsakes or jewelry.
Internal compartments roughly measure 2.25x2.75 inches for each of the 6 compartments and the pullout drawer 5.5x7.25 inches. Shipping included, will be shipping priority and insured.
