- One of a kind, I have already destroyed the original carving
- Created as my first Tufa casting for my jewelry class at the IAIA
- Dragonflies in Navajo culture represent many different things some of my favorite stories involve how dragonflies are messengers that are tied to water and tranquility and they will take you to a peaceful place. Another story I often heard was how dragonflies could carry wishes to the heavens. If you whisper them your wish then your wish may come true. I decided to name this tufa casting "Dragonfly Journey" in telling that story for future generations. Dragonfly Journey depicts a dragonfly on a flight through mountains and different times. The dragonfly's goal is to reach the bright comfy serene area surrounding the flower carved within the opal stone. The opal is full of bright rainbow hues and colors that represent a calming place. On the dragonflies body is the wishes and it safely transport it to its destination. This piece was created with a ton of love and respect for my Diné culture, I hope the wearer can enjoy many peaceful moments and create many beautiful memories while wearing it!
